The 3rd Elan Summer Dance Festival Returns to Provincetown 2010
The Elan Summer Dance Festival, presenting the works of New York and Boston-based choreographers returns to Provincetown, MA on Saturday, August 21, 2010.
This summer festival is part of The Elan Awards, a dance festival held in New York City that showcases the works of fourteen choreographers and honors choreographers who have made a significant impact on dance altering the way dance is viewed today; past honorees of The Elan Award include Graciella Daniele, Jerry Mitchell, Ann Reinking, Rob Marshall, Lar Lubovitch and Susan Stroman.
Named “ONE OF NINE DANCEMAKERS MAKING HISTORY” by Dance Spirit Magazine in 2001, Geoffrey Doig-Marx is the Creator/Artistic Director of The Elan Awards, Director of Arias Dance NYC and the Artistic Director/Founder of The Mantis Project Dance and Production Company. Mr. Doig-Marx received a Certificate of Excellence in Cultural Achievement from Office of The Mayor of New York City for his work with The Elan Awards.
The Elan Summer Festival is presented by Geoffrey Doig-Marx and Tricia Arenson and will be held on Saturday, August 21st from 1100am-7:00pm in front of The Unitarian Universalist Meeting House (236 Commercial Street Provincetown, MA 02657) Free to the public.
